Eva Bur am Orde's large-format oil paintings combine global themes in a figurative representation, strong coloring and structural implementation that gives the pictures a life of their own. The international artist describes her painting as ethno-pop painting, thereby coining a new term in the art world.

The contemporary artist, born in 1961, lives and works in Rottweil and is known for numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.

Eva Bur am Orde first studied archaeology and philosophy at the University of Münster, then interior design and free painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. She completed her artistic education at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, where she studied interdisciplinary art under Hermann Nitsch.

Since 2014, Eva Bur am Orde has been a member of the “Rainforest Art Foundation Europe” – an initiative that, together with artists and institutions, draws attention to our ecosystem, which is worth protecting, through various art actions and events.

Eva Bur is currently represented at the Orde by:
Art Innovation Innsbruck

The Bagnato Gallery in Konstanz
She also presents her works in her own studio in Rottweil.

Art genre “Ethno Pop Art” launched
Eva Bur am Orde coined the new artistic genre term "Ethno Pop Art" in 2012 - in the context of her work complex "Peace Collection", an exhibition project for the UN building in Paris. The artist is considered a style icon of this art movement, with which she wants to build a bridge from prehistoric times to modern times. In her figurative and ornamental art, essential features of urban, street and pop art are mixed with elements of naturalism and art deco - coupled with her own ethnological and ethical attitude.

All of her works express a deep longing for a universal world ethos. Peaceful coexistence of all people and creatures is possible - that is Eva Bur am Orde's conviction. Her aim is therefore to bring art and society into harmony and to raise awareness of global issues. The striking, brightly colored motifs reflect the original living environments of people and creatures and are intertwined in her art to create touching and stirring messages. Sometimes fragile and vulnerable, sometimes strong and self-confident, then again rebellious and demanding - the protagonists of her paintings tell of their deeply anchored roots in nature, they sing the virtuoso song of the inexhaustible wealth of life, they are a homage to creation itself.

The artist's focus is on respect for indigenous peoples, the protection of the tropical rainforest with its fauna and flora, and the preservation of cultures and individuals. The art plea for universal themes, staged in contrasting colors, gets under your skin and aims to stimulate a lively dialogue about the major issues of our time.

The artist works in series. All works in oil on canvas.
