Ethno Experience An evening with impressions from Africa + South America In the studio of Eva Bur am Orde

‘Ethno Experience’ on 16 July 2025 at Eva Bur am Orde's studio Eva Bur am Orde's colourful, large-format paintings provided the backdrop for a multicultural evening of a special kind. The painter invited guests to her studio on the Moker site in Rottweil. This is where ‘art that shines’ is created. Clear lines and intense colours characterise the archaic-looking paintings of the travel-loving artist. She sees art as a ‘bridge between worlds’ and wants to give the viewer a unique „Ethno-Pop-Art Experience". Embedded in this art, an evening of cultural encounter took place on Wednesday, 16 July 2025. After introductory words by Eva Bur am Orde, Gabi Ayivi, a well-known African resident of Rottweil who originally comes from Tübingen, reported on her experiences from another part of the world. For over 11 years, she has been running a home for children and young people in Emene, on the outskirts of Enugu, which she founded herself. She recounted – illustrated with exclusive images – the sometimes arduous, but often cheerful everyday life in south-eastern Nigeria. The „Ethnic Experience" of the evening was then enriched with South American sounds: Célio de Carvalho, a percussionist from Rio de Janeiro and student of Hermeto Pascoal, conjured up exotic sounds and noises with ‘familiar and unfamiliar instruments’ in the packed studio. Eva Bur am Orde and her two guests succeeded in creating an extraordinary event that was very well received by the audience. We can look forward to further events at the painter's ‘creative space’.
